a) Credit Suisse
Credit Suisse, a global banking giant with a presence across all continents, maintains significant connections with nearly every major financial institution worldwide. Established in 1856, initially to support Switzerland’s emerging rail infrastructure, the bank transitioned to public banking and the bullion industry after the completion of the rail network.
Today, Credit Suisse is renowned for producing highly esteemed bullion bars, solidifying its position as a leader in the industry. Platinum bars of various weights, including 1 gram, 10 ounces, and 1 pound, are solely manufactured by Credit Suisse at Valcambi.
- The term “CREDIT SUISSE” is displayed in a rectangular design box at the top of the bar front. The assayer’s stamp ( ESSAYEUR FONDEUR) and a distinct serial number are painstakingly etched in the bottom of the 1 oz bar, along with the weight, purity (99.95), and metal content (i.e., platinum).
- On the back side, the “CREDIT SUISSE” is encircled in a rectangular shaped box with all edges curved in a repeated pattern. The position of these logos is at a 45-degree angle to each other.
b) Valcambi
Formerly known as Valori & Cambi, Valcambi has undergone several mergers since its 1961 founding in Balerna, Switzerland, to become the prestigious company it is today. After a crucial partnership with Credit Suisse led to a merger, the company was eventually named Valcambi Suisse. An enduring testament to the remarkable metal’s industrial and historical importance, the Platinum Minted Bar from Valcambi carries on the metal’s heritage.
It is a high-quality platinum bar produced by Valcambi, a Swiss precious metals refinery. The bar is made of 99.95% pure platinum, which is the highest grade available. It has a weight of 1 ounce, which is equivalent to 28.3495 grams. These bars usually come in a plastic protective case for safe storage and transfer. The 1 oz platinum bar is popular among collectors & investors due to its rarity and value. Let’s discuss the features in brief:
- On the front side, the diamond-shaped Valcambi refinery emblem is on the top, while on the bottom right, the bar’s weight, purity specifications, and unique serial number are written.
- Features an elaborate expanding square design and the words “Valcambi Suisse on the reverse side.
2. Platinum Coins
Like platinum bars, platinum coins are legal tender coins popular worldwide. These are produced in varying weights and purities, with the most common being 1 oz coins.
Royal Canadian Mint

- The reverse side pays tribute to the Late Queen Elizabeth II with a special engraving of the years of her reign (1952-2022). It also shows the face value of 50 DOLLARS, the year of mintage 2023, on the bottom and above her head; her name, ELIZABETH, is engraved.
- You can see “CANADA” and the maple leaf emblem carved on the top front. At the base, you can see the words 1 OZ PLATINE PUR as well as FINE PLATINUM.
